Hey there!
Just a quick note to mention that I’ve moved all my crafts to one store now at Big Cartel. Thus, this blogshop is now closed. To purchase stuff you see here, please go to http://andrealism.bigcartel.com.
I’d mentioned before that I had planned to gradually move everything here to my Big Cartel store as I eventually upgrade my account there. This move makes managing the store a little easier and allow shoppers to purchase items in a secure manner via PayPal (The FAQs on my store explains the details. You can easily contact me through the store too). So I hope you will get a better online shopping experience there.
Oh. Do note that I didn’t increase the price of the items or anything that moved from this blogshop to Big Cartel. No change in that. No worries.
However, do check for new stuff on the store as I plan to bring new things there. And yes, but something please!

What’s in store for andrealism this 2010?

Well, there will be lots more stuff to be added to the shop this year since I’m trying out new things and designs. Keep an eye out on my Big Cartel store for it.
2009 ended with a nice publicity piece for andrealism. I hope that will open it up to a bigger market as I’m sure there are a lot of people who likes handmade crafts and support such small businesses like mine. But before I add any more new items to the stores, I hope the current items will find its way to new owners soon.
If you’re here for the first time, “Hello!” Do have a look around. If you’ve been here a few times already, have you decided what to buy yet? Most of andrealism‘s creations are one-off items only. So be sure to grab it fast before someone else buys it!
Here’s a quick run-through of the items I have for sale:
I made three hand-stitched felt clutches: something bright and cheery, something sweet with ribbons and something retro-ish. Each is priced at US $12 (which is approximately RM40). The hand-stitching are done neatly and tight, and yes, it can actually hold stuff in it.
Looking for a pouch to keep your loose medicine or small amount of first aid items? Keep them in this el neato ‘envelope‘. It’s only US $6 (approx. RM20).
Love owls? Now you can hang ‘em in your room with this cutesy owl garland! US $14 (about RM47).
I made a few other garlands too. Like these pom poms one and this Santa booties one for next Christmas.
If you like badges and buttons, perhaps you’ll like these doll-faced felt badges. It comes in three different looks and several ‘hair’ colors: facing forward, right and left. Each is sold at US $3 (RM7).
And here’s an old favorite, the smiley Devil Bookie bookmark, which is still sold at a special low price at US $2 (RM5).

Bird Badges
I just completed the custom order above – Bird Badges meant as Christmas presents for bird-watchers.
Left: White Throated Kingfisher (top) and Hornbill (bottom)
Middle: Eagle Owls
Right: Puffin (top) and Olive Backed Sunbird (bottom)
The birds were sketched based on actual photographs. Then felt pieces were cut by hand and hand stitched together. Pin clasps at the back.

The Story:
I came up with this last year, made as part of a care package for a friend. This pouch, modeled after a paper envelope, is made of felt and is used to store first aid/meds – i.e. band aids, aspirin, tubes of mosquito repellant, balms and various medication.
It is hand-stitched with red thread and is fastened with a length of braided red thread loop around red buttons.

I contributed a cheetah print felt cardholder for a friend’s charity auction called Project Snip-Snip. Do check out the site for more details. My cardholder should be up for auction soon. Keep an eye out for it. All proceeds collected goes to the SSPCA.

On Holiday

Hi, folks!
Just an advanced FYI, I’m going off for a long awaited holiday this coming October 29 to November 2, 2009. This means I won’t be around to respond to any emails during this time and there won’t be a delivery this Saturday, even if you ordered something just before those dates. But that doesn’t mean you can’t order anything, of course. Just that I can only deliver your order out a week later.
In the meantime, Happy Halloween and All Hallows Eve to all!
